Description

This is an extremely interesting complex, the earliest parts of which date from the 17th century. It is described in the MBR as a “Five-bay, double pile, single-storey dwelling with basement to one bay only”, and is magnificently sited looking towards the lush lowlands of western Fermanagh. The condition of the building when recently reviewed (Feb 19) is of grave concern for such an early constructed building; the building is to a large percentage covered in vegetation and ivy growth, large sections of the roof with no slates, missing rainwater goods and door and window openings unboarded leaving the building extremely open to the elements. Contact with the owner has recetly raised concerns over the significance of the building and perhaps interim remedial action will take place to safeguard the building. Refs: MBR
