Description

Gothic Revival church consecrated in 1863. Slate roof, roughly cut dark stone with dressed stone quoins and window surrounds. The foundation stone was laid in 1862 by John Alexander of Milford Carlow. It availed of £1000 from the Ecclesiastical Commissioners for the building of the church. . The architects were Welland and Gillespie with the builders listed as Harvey and McLaughlin. The church ceased services in 2006 and was used as a cross community centre. In 2016 the building was advertised for sale. The building is in a poor condition with water ingress likely as a result of slipped slates. Although unlisted this is still a significant building with potential. Ref Belfast News-Letter - Wednesday 01 July 1863
