Exterior Description And Setting

A gabled building with slated roof, dry dash finish to walls with smooth cement rendered dressings, and modernised windows; a date stone inscribed 1795 is built into the front wall above a later hipped lean-to porch. It stands in the midst of a tarmac car park in a rural location, fronting the road.

Originally built as a Seceding meeting house in 1795; rebuilt in 1830 as “a stone and lime house, 1-storey high”, with its yard “all planted round with fir trees and alder”.
