Historical Information

Believed to be part of the Watertown complex, which developed from 1922 onwards to house the builders of the Silent Valley reservoir (opened 1933). It is uncertain whether the building is in its original position. Source: 1. J. Loudan, 'In search of Water', (Belfast 1940) pp.105-6.

Evaluation

It is unusual to find buildings of this type and age still in their original condition. The rear extension does not adversely affect its character. It also has an interesting historical link with the Silent Valley.
