Exterior Description And Setting


Rotary pump in a prominent roadside location. It has a fluted splay shaped column and a fluted cap with a pointed finial. A metal plate affixed to the cap reads ‘F.W. Brackett & CoLtd/ Engineers/ Colchester/ England’. It is associated with a cast-iron horse trough.

This rotary type water pump is situated in a prominent position in the centre of Belleck and is a remimder of the time when drinking water was only available in the street.. It is of particular importance as it still has its water trough.
