Exterior Description And Setting


Site of former single storey dwelling (on the S side of the Ballyblack Road c.2 miles W of Carrowdore), demolished recently [?c.1996] with new building on part of site. Description from 1st Survey Card " Single/sty cottage with extension at back. Gabled ends, slated roof. Chimneys rendered. Walls rendered, lined and painted. 2 D/H windows, horiz. Astragals, mld architraves. Doorway in centre has s/c arch head, mld archivolt, fluted and panelled pilasters, plain fanlight and recent flush door."

A building is shown on this site on the OS Maps of 1833/4 and 1858-60. The house on this site was demolished recently [?c.1996] and a modern house has been built close by.
