Exterior Description And Setting


Single-storey/ two-bay dwelling facing south, with attached corrugated tin roofed outhouse. Harled, roughly-coursed squared granite rubble walls. Cement rendered chimney to east gable, collapsed on west gable. Roof collapsed. No windows or doors remain.

Historical Information


Does not appear on 1834, 1859 or 1901 OS 6” map. Shown on 1919 map. Recorded in HMBB survey card of 1972 as, ' A cottage with harled and whitened walls and slated roof, part renewed. The chimney has a projecting cap, the pot has triangular topped sides. The door is sheeted, D/H windows have sashes divided equally into three panes. There is a small annex, with sheeted door to the east. ' The 1972 survey slide (taken from rear) shows the roof to be roped thatch and gone to the east end.
