Exterior Description And Setting

A 5 bay, 2 storey stonebuilt terrace house with slated roof. A 5 bay wide street frontage with off centre pvc door and 2, 12 pane pvc windows on each side unevenly spaced. At 1st floor 4, 9 pane pvc windows centred over the openings immediately below. Walls built of roughly squared and coursed white limestone with new brick trim to windows. There is a gentle slope to Market Street so that the lowest course dies into footpath. ½ round metal gutter, natural slated roof brick built chimneys (recent work).

2 storey, recently renovated artisan terrace house fronting onto Market Street and part of the 2nd Market project carried out by the Draper’s Company. In 1975 the occupier was R Graham and in 1986 the owner was Mrs J Purvis of 34 Turnaface Road. Improvements were carried out by this family during the 1990s. Evaluation

A pleasing 2 storey 5 bay long artisan stone built with brick trim terrace house, recently renovated of the late Georgian period and part of the Market and Corn store project completed in 1839. Forms a pleasing terrace though it is unfortunate that pvc windows and doors have been used.
