Historical Information

Precise date of building not recorded but a building appears on the site on the OS map of 1835, running parallel with the public road. The OS map of 1860 shows the public road diverted at an angle past the house, with the house set well back from it. The house may be supposed to date from perhaps the 18th century and to have been added to progressively. One of the farm buildings bears a datestone inscribed 'Rebuilt 1865'. Occupied by the McClelland family from at least the 1860s, first as tenants, later as owners, until c 1985. References – Primary Sources 1. OS Map 1835, Co Armagh 9. 2. OS Map 1860, Co Armagh 9.
