Exterior Description And Setting


Substantial ruined remains of a rubble built 13th century priory church, extended in the 14th and 15 centuries and partly rebuilt with tower added in the early 1600s. This building is now in state care. See SMR Dow 6:18.

This former Dominican priory was founded in the mid 1200s with the building extended in the 14th and 15th centuries. The north aisle was reconstructed in the early 1600s at which time the tower was added. See SMR Dow 6:18.
