Exterior Description And Setting


A former single-storey traditionally constructed rendered schoolhouse, partially derelict at the time of the first survey (1975) and now replaced with a later building. The First Survey card indicates a rectangular building of split rubble walls. Timber windows with fixed lower panes and upper part divided in small panes. Gable entrance porch. The original building was possible low harled building to the north. Used as a school until about 1963. Patrick Bronte, schoolmaster in adjoining building. Does not appear on the OS map of 1833. Date of visit: 22-07-70
