Exterior Description And Setting

Building was surveyed in the First Survey but not listed. Partial record only was taken during the Second Survey as the building is not worthy of a full survey. A two-bay single-storey former lock-keeper’s cottage with attic, located along the Lagan Navigation canal. The house has had inappropriate mid-twentieth-century renovations including the enlargement of windows and replacement of all significant materials and finishes. The lock gates remain but are largely overgrown, and the timber bridge is near collapse. Now of historic interest only
