Exterior Description And Setting


The building has been demolished and a residential development built in its place. The First Survey card records: ‘2/Sty house with single/sty extensions & adjacent outbuildings. Roof slated, with valley & gable ends. Chimneys rendered. Wall rendered, lined & part painted. S. front has 5 F/FL & 4 Sn/FL D/H windows, no astrags. Central projecting slated & gabled porch. Doorway, recessed within elliptic arch has 3 pane fanlight, 2 pane side lights & panelled door. Condition poorish. Main house about 50 ft. wide. Now used as '"holiday homes" Appears as "Belle Vue" on O.S. Map of 1834 Date of visit: 7/12/72'
