Exterior Description And Setting

A former single-span rubble stone bridge erected c.1830 in dense woodland at the south of Baronscourt demesne. The bridge has been rebuilt with modern rubble stone parapets bounding a dirt road and bridging a concrete pipe carrying a fast-flowing stream known as ‘Pound Burn’ under the road. Little historic interest remains.

The Poundburn Bridge is shown from the 1833 OS map but not captioned. No Abercorn estate letters were found pertaining to this bridge.
