Exterior Description And Setting


Single shallow segmental span reinforced concrete bridge, erected 1931, carrying the Jordanstown to Monkstown Road over the Belfast to Ballymena railway. The bridge appears to have been replaced by a similar reinforced concrete bridge c.1994. An original concrete date plaque has been embedded in a brick pier to the northeast where a further date plaque states “WIDENED 1994”.

Evaluation


Single shallow segmental span reinforced concrete bridge, erected 1931, carrying the Jordanstown to Monkstown Road over the Belfast to Ballymena railway. The bridge appears to have been replaced by a similar reinforced concrete bridge c.1994. An original concrete date plaque has been embedded in a brick pier to the northeast where a further date plaque states “WIDENED 1994”.
