Historical Information

Installed as an ornamental feature c 1990 but later given a water supply . It is now in full working order. It is thought that it was brought form Belfast where it had originally been installed. This type of fountain was installed in the early twentieth century wnhen a pressurised mains water supply became available. Further particulars in the EHS Report 'Water Pumps in Northern Ireland : A Preliminary Survey' by Fred Hammond, January 1997, Pump no. 79.

Evaluation

Typical water fountain of the type found in other parts of N Ierland. Although not in it's original location it is possibly the only operational fountain in N Ireland and is located in the Silent Valley where the pressurised water supply originated for it's former site in Belfast.
