Exterior Description And Setting


Lever (closed head) type pump with plain column and cap. It is of unusual design and is probably relatively modern. It has a spout lug but no pedestal. It is located in a roadside alcove opposite houses which it continues to supply.

Pump shown at this location on the 25 inch OS maps of 1906 and 1956 (PRONI Ref OS 10/2/26/2/1 and 2) but this is probably a replacement. Further particulars in the EHS Report 'Water Pumps in Northern Ireland : A Preliminary Survey' by Fred Hammond, January 1997, Pump no. 15.
