Exterior Description And Setting


A fountain with a plain shaped fluted column, a lions mouth spout and an acorn finial. The column is inscribed 'Glenfield & Kennedy Td/Kilmarnock'.

Water troughs are marked along the street on the 1906 and 1937 OS 25 inch maps (PRONI Ref OS 10/6/44/6/1 and 2), but no pumps explicitly cited. Further particulars in the EHS Report 'Water Pumps in Northern Ireland : A Preliminary Survey' by Fred Hammond, January 1997, Pump no 70.
