Exterior Description And Setting

A closed head lever type pump with a plain column and cap. Inscribed on the column is a flag logo (denoting made by Lee Howl & Co, Tipton, England), 'Made in England' and 2"". It is a 'Paragon cistern pump'. It is located in a hedged niche on a concrete pedestal beside No 19.

Historical Information

Well at this location on 1903 and 1920 OS 25 inch maps (PRONI Ref OS 10/1/27/11/1 and 2). A local informant stated that the pump was installed at the instigation of Ballymena District Council by James Madill to supply nearby houses.
