Exterior Description And Setting


Description on 15.06.1995. A cow tail closed head lever pump with plain shaped spirally decorated column and a fluted cap with acorn finial. It is inscribed 'G Dugan, Lisburn' around the head. It is set in a roadside alcove near 9 semi-detached houses. Description on 07.07.2006. Pump is no longer in place.

Historical Information


According to a local informant, the houses with which this pump is associated were erected in 1926 for ex-servicemen. It is assumed that the pump was installed at the same time. Further particulars in the EHS report 'Water Pumps in Northern Ireland: A Preliminary Survey' by Fred Hammond, January 1997, Pump no 31. July 2006 - A neighbour stated that the pump was removed c1996 when new housing was constructed.
