Building currently on this site is modern and replaces a 19th century shop originally surveyed in November 1969.

Building shown on 1835 OS map. Described as four and one-third storey house in 1863 valuation book. The HMMB first survey card dated 12 November 1969 states “ Early 19thC four-storey building with rendered walls and slated roof. Ground floor is shopped with a good four-light display window. Double-hung windows with glazing bars on upper floor. Square eaves cornice. The building was raised mid 19thC”. It also states that G.W. Reside was the architect involved. Primary Sources: 1.
