Exterior Description And Setting

A single storey gabled house with a gabled rear return at one end. Main entrance faces approximately south. Roofs modern tiled, with plain bargeboards to gables, replacements for original decorative barges; walls modern rendered; windows modern fixed lights with top-hung vents, replacements for original timber sliding sashes; main entrance is a modern panelled door of integral 'fanlight' glazing type. SETTING: The building stands facing the main street, set slightly back behind a small narrow garden with a low stone front boundary wall.

Historical Information

Precise date of building not recorded but it appears, without its rear return, on the OS map of 1834 and may be taken to date from at least the early 19th century.
