Exterior Description And Setting

Two storey Georgian style gabled farm house of c.1860s, extended lengthways in c.1954 and now with PVC window frames and doors. The property is set on the slope of Old Church Hill, to the N of Manse Road, roughly a mile SW of Seaforde. The front façade faces roughly S and is asymmetrical. To the left is the front entrance, with PVC glazed door, semicircular arched with ‘spoke’ fanlight, and simple rendered surround. To the left of the entrance is window with PVC frame made to look like the original Georgian paned sash ones, and simple rendered surround. To the right are two similar windows with a large flat roofed bay window to the right of these (also with PVC frame). To the first floor are six evenly spaced windows as ground floor. The W gable is blank. The E gable has a square window to the first floor with PVC frame, with a slightly smaller one to the right on the first floor, with similar frame. To the rear there are five windows and a door to the ground floor and four windows to first floor. These windows are of varying size and all have PVC frames. The door is modern also. The façade is finished in painted rough cast. The gabled roof has a slight overhang and two red brick chimney stacks (that to the E is off centre due to the addition of the extension. The roof is covered in natural slate to the front and artificial slate to the rear. Cast iron rw goods.
