Exterior Description And Setting

A single segmental span carries a field accommodation track (formerly the main road) over a stream just upstream of New Drumcru Bridge (HB12/02/035). The abutments comprise large roughly-dressed limestone blocks. The voussoirs and what remains of the spandrels are of split random rubble. The upstream half of the span has collapsed, and both parapets have disappeared. The bridge is now in poor repair and heavily overgrown.

This bridge is shown on the 1834 OS 6" map. It is probably of later 18th century date. It was superseded by New Drumcru Bridge (and new road alignment) in the mid 19th century. 1. OS 6" map, 1st edition (1834), Co Fermanagh sheet 40 (PRONI OS 6/4/40/1).
