Exterior Description And Setting

Large, presumably prehistoric, standing stone, situated in what is now the front garden of a house on the W side of Warren Road, c.1.5 miles NW of Donaghadee town centre. The stone is irregular in shape and measures roughly 2.5m in height by 1.2m (at its greatest extent). The ‘Archaeological Survey of Co Down’ (Belfast 1966) states that this particular rock is sandstone, but to the writers it appears to be fieldstone [?greywacke].
