Exterior Description And Setting

The building recorded in the 1st survey has been demolished and replaced with the building illustrated on the slide in viewpack. It has no architectural or historical significance. When surveyed in October 1971, the original building was described as 'A two-storey, three bay house with rendered façade, roughcast sides and rear. The entrance with panelled door and plain segmental fanlight is flanked either side by a pair of plain-sashed segmental headed lights. Upper windows are square-headed with vertical division. The roof is slated, there are variegated chimney stacks on either gable and bargeboards are decorated. A hipped-roof glass varandah is supported on four slim cast iron columns. Low return at rear, wooden porch at side.'

Building illustrated in view pack erected in 1980s replacing house recorded in the 1st Survey. Original house was probably built by a builder named Humphries, who built No. 2, 3 and 4 Bayview Road. Evaluation

Building recorded in first historic buildings survey of 1971 has since been demolished. Present house was erected in circa 1980 and has little architectural merit.
