Exterior Description And Setting

A 2 storey 2 bay wide building in terrace. The elevation to North St, ground floor, 2 separate entrance doors to 2 areas of bar, on each side. 2 windows with large etched lower pane and above 2 horizontal top hung opening vents. Above the entrance door a painted sign “Harbour Bar”. At 1st floor 2 windows, wider than those on ground, with large lower pane and 3 top hung opening vents. Wall smooth rendered and painted plinth. Gutter ½ round, natural slated roof. Being only 2 storeys ridge is much lower than No. 5 and 7 on either side. The rear of building is much obscured by adjoining buildings.

Evaluation

The present form of the building probably is retained from the mid or earlier 19th century but the door, windows and finishes except for slated roof have been greatly altered. It has some historical interest as a public house of the late 19th century.
