Exterior Description And Setting

A symmetrical three-bay outbuilding with advanced gabled bay to centre. Outbuilding is one-and-a-half-storey to principal W elevation falling to accommodate an additional storey to rear E elevation. Outbuilding is aligned roughly N-S to the E of Summerhill House (HB12/01/030A). Pitched corrugated metal roof. Walls are lime-rendered random rubble stone with stone dressings to openings and a stone stringcourse (at eaves level of main block) to gabled bay. Left and right bays are identical. Each has a central door opening flanked by a window opening. Door to right bay is a t+g barn door with a timber 1x1 side-hung casement window with stone cill to each side. Projecting central bay has a large two-stage semicircular-headed carriage opening with stone vouissoirs and stepped reveal. Above is a large loading door opening with stone reveal, cill and timber lintel. The left and right cheeks are blank. Left gable is blank. Rear elevation has a semicircular-headed opening with brick dressings to ground floor of each bay. First floor has a loading door opening to left bay; centre bay has two window openings that to the right has a 6/6 sliding sash and that to left is set at a higher level and is smaller. Right bay has an infilled window opening. At attic level of left bay is a small window opening; other bays are blank. Right gable has an opening to ground floor centre.
