Exterior Description And Setting

A one and a half storey / three bay vernacular house aligned W-E on a disused lane to the S of Annachullion Glebe Townland. Pitched corrugated metal roof with three brick chimneys; one to each gable and one at party wall between left and central bays. A timber eaves board supports half-round metal rainwater goods. Walls are whitewashed and lime-rendered. Windows are the remains of 2/2 (horizontally divided) sliding sashes with horns and stone cills (unless otherwise stated). Principal elevation faces S. Right and left bays each has a central window. Central bay has a door opening to left and a window to right. Left gable is abutted by a link-block leading to a lower outbuilding. Exposed section is blank. Link-block and outbuilding share a pitched corrugated metal roof. Link block walls are concrete; outbuilding walls are rubble stone (both are whitewashed). S elevations and left gable are blank. N elevation of outbuilding has a t+g sheeted door to centre. The link block is open to N; its roof is supported on a single steel beam. Rear elevation has a small square fixed pane window to centre. Central bay has a t+g-sheeted door to left and a 1/1 sliding sash window to right. Aligned above and set directly below eaves level is a small fixed pane window. Right bay has a 4/4 sliding sash window. All rear windows are without cills. Right gable has a 4/4 sliding sash window to upper floor, set to right of centre. Setting: The house is prominently sited with low farmland and a river to S; the ground to N is raised and maturely wooded. Formerly accessed by a bridge which has since been removed, it is now reached by a network of disused lanes to the NE.
