Exterior Description And Setting

A single storey / three bay vernacular house aligned W-E near the S boundary of Errasallagh Townland. Pitched corrugated metal roof with two yellow brick chimneys; one to party wall between each bay. Timber eaves board. Rainwater goods are gone. Walls are white washed lime-rendered rubble stone. All cills are stone. Principal elevation faces S. Central bay has a windbreak porch to left and a 2/2 sliding sash window to right. Porch is of squared rubble stone and has a flat stone roof. There is a timber glazed and panelled door to front face. Right and left cheeks are blank. Left and right bays each have a metal framed top-hung casement window set at centre (that to right is 2/2). Left and right gables are unrendered and blank. That to right has the ghost marks of a lower outbuilding with pitched roof. Rear elevation is built into a bank and unrendered. Central bay has a 1/1 sliding sash window.

Evaluation

A hearth-lobby entry vernacular dwelling with some interesting detailing. Many internal features remain intact and it forms a pleasant roadside feature.
