Datestone attests to erection in 1852. The first survey card dated 27 September 1972 describes the building as “a single storey school. Roof slated, gable end. Walls roughly dressed snecked sandstone rubble with finer dressings. Dressed quoins. E front has projecting central gable with side bays. Gable has three lights grouped with diamond framed windows. Bevel surround and semicircular heads with higher central light. Inscribed panel near apex. Each side bay has recent square steel casement window. Each end gable has sheeted entrance door, bevel surround. Condition fair and frontage about 50ft.” Panel inscribed ‘School AD 1852’ (1855?). Primary sources: 1. Datestone. 2.
