Exterior Description And Setting

A much altered two-storey / three-bay house aligned SW-NE at the S of Deer Park Townland. Pitched natural slate roof. There is a sandstone chimney with stone coping and projecting platband to party wall between each bay. Rainwater goods are ogee tin over advanced timber eaves. Walls are pebble-dashed over a cement base course with stepped sandstone quoins to front and rear. All windows are uPVC top-hung casements mimicking 6/6 sashes and set in modern cement reveals lined to resemble stone. Cills are stone. Principal elevation faces SE and was formerly symmetrical with three openings to each floor and central entrance. It is now abutted by a large modern conservatory, (containing the new entrance) to left of centre. Right and left gables are blank. Rear elevation is abutted by a single storey return to right of centre (of no interest). Left bay has two windows to ground floor. Central bay has a window to centre. Right bay has a window to right end. First floor has three equally spaced windows, which are taller. Outbuilding: To E side of rear farmyard, and abutting main block at extreme right end, is a two-storey lime-rendered rubble stone outbuilding with pitched corrugated metal roof. Ground floor openings (from left) are a 2x3 metal framed window, three t+g sheeted doors, and a window opening. Right end is abutted by a set of ten stone steps, leading to a loading door. To first floor centre is a large opening with timber lintel. Other elevations were not inspected. Tie bars are exposed. Setting: The house is accessed from the road by a short tree-lined lane. There are maturely planted gardens to front and right side. To rear is a modern farmyard.
