Exterior Description And Setting

A long roughly dressed sandstone wall with dressed saddle/pitched copings and gate piers leading to Spring Grove house and farmyard (HB12/01/024A) to the NE. The wall curves with the road and runs in a W-E direction terminated by a perpendicular gate screen. It is broken by a square-in-section pillar with pyramidal cap (roughly at the three-quarter stage along its length). A similar pillar terminates the gate screen to the S. The gate piers (also in sandstone) are octagonal with recessed elongated panels with curved heads. They are surmounted by a decorative domed cap, resting on a slightly advanced base with squared-panels. The gate is missing.
