Exterior Description And Setting

Two and half storey/ two bay house, being the right one of a pair of mirror image houses at SW end of a terrace on NW side of Great George’s Street. Pitched artificial slate roof with a rebuilt red brick chimney to right gable. Advanced eaves course supports half-round plastic gutters. Front pitch has a canted dormer to right bay and a modern dormer to left bay (paired with adjoining house). Right dormer has canted artificial slate roof with central top-hung casement, fixed sidelights and artificial slated right cheeks. Left dormer has a flat roof and contains a modern top-hung casement window to front, artificially slated right cheek and dormer of adjoining house (HB16/11/034A) on left cheek. Principal elevation faces SE to street. Walls are cement dashed and painted. Below eaves level, and shared with adjoining house, is a moulded stucco plaque reading “1908”. Right bay has a two-storey canted bay with concealed flat roof with concrete coping. Each face on each floor contains a single modern top-hung casement window with painted concrete cill. A lean-to porch shared with adjoining house fills ground floor to left of this bay. It has an artificial slate roof supported on small carved timber brackets at each end. Door is modern stained timber with six raised and fielded panels with a plain transom over. On wall to its right is a modern timber wall mounted plaque stating “Glen-Rosa”. Over, to first floor, is a single window detailed as those to right.. Small front garden is enclosed by a painted and rendered wall. Left gable is completely abutted by adjoining house (HB16/11/034A). Rear elevation was not inspected. Right is completely abutted by adjoining house (HB16/11/034C).
