Exterior Description And Setting

A square two-storey building at the NW corner of the dock; the former harbour office, now used by a shipping agent. Flat concrete roof behind eaves parapet. Smooth-rendered and painted walls, with moulded string course between G/F and F/F, and also below roof parapet. Principal elevation faces NE. Three openings wide, each delineated by shallow pilasters. Three windows to ground floor and same to floor - all modern 1/1 top-hung with original concrete cills (all other windows identical). "Jenkins Shipping Co Ltd" sign on parapet and electric clock at right end of parapet. SE elevation has two narrow windows to G/F and two larger ones to F/F (not in line). Sign identical to NE elevation on roof parapet. A rendered chimney rises from the middle of this parapet, and another from its left end. Rear elevation (to SW) has a one-and-a-half storey extension abutting at G/F right. The NW elevation has a modern six-panel timber door (with transom) to centre. Window to left and to right, and two in line at F/F. A rendered chimney rises from middle of roof parapet.
