Historical Information

A building is shown on this plot on the 1834 OS 6” map, along with the rest of this terrace. Noted in the 1835 First Valuation as measuring 26ft x 17ft6in x 12ft6in. It is also noted as a one-and-a-half storey house on the 1861 Second valuation. Its valuation at that time was £11, but this increases to £20 in 1873, suggesting a major (upwards) extension or complete rebuild in its present form. Primary sources 1. OS 6” map, 1834, Co Down sheet 54 (PRONI: OS 6/3/54/1). 2. First Valuation book, 1835 (PRONI: VAL 1B/367, p.82). 3. Second Valuation book, 1861 (PRONI: VAL 2B/3/65B, p.53. 4.
