Exterior Description And Setting

Rectangular hall church with two halls attached at left end of east elevation. Roof is natural slate and pitched with metal rainwater goods. Walls are all smooth rendered with painted base course and some exposed concrete detailing. Steps lead up to central semicircular-headed entrance with moulded reredos in north-facing gable. Above are three semicircular headed stained glass windows with similar moulded surrounds. Central window surround continues up vertically to enclose a niche containing a statue of Christ. Stone cross on gable apex. Right elevation (facing Dublin Rd). All windows are semicircular headed with leaded glass. First bay (from left) is raised out flush with projecting base course and contains one tall window. Second bay similar, but wall is not raised forward. The third bay has a pair of windows, and the wall steps out flush with eaves course. Fourth bay also has a pair of windows but not full length. Hipped roof return containing confessional below cill level. Fifth bay has another pair of similar windows. Sixth and last bay is windowless chancel. Left elevation is same as right but returns (containing hall) abut side of chancel side. Rear gable has windows like those at opposite end but also with two tall semicircular headed openings on either side.
