Exterior Description And Setting

A pair of two-storey semi-detached houses with rendered walls and stucco dressings, attached to another house on the east side to form part of a terrace. Main entrances face north. Roofs of Bangor blue slates in regular courses; two chimneys, replacements in rustic brick; walls rendered with dry dash of pebbles, cement render. Surrounds to windows and doorways are in smooth cement render with stop-chamfering to edges of reveals; coved drip mouldings now mostly spalled. Doors are modern replacements, rectangular timber panelled and glazed. Windows are rectangular timber fixed lights with top-hung vents. At the left-hand extremity is an elliptically arched coach entrance with ledged timber double doors set in rusticated surrounds. PVC gutter and downpipes. Rear elevations have later single and two-storey rear returns; all windows to rear elevations are of similar modern type to entrance fronts, but set in plain reveals. SETTING: The houses stand within the built-up area of the village, facing the main street but set back from it a distance behind a tarmac pavement and a broad tarmac parking area. Houses adjoined on the east side by a two-storey house of basalt rubble with a rendered west gable; houses flanked on west side by a new housing development in course of erection.
