Exterior Description And Setting


A single storey long and narrow rectangular low building of 4 bays, gabled. Former stable, now used as a store with 3 single door openings and 2 windows on the NW side and 1 single door and small window on the other. In the SW gable a tall pointed window with Y tracery possibly a remnant of the former church. Walls plastered and painted and roof slated.

Historical Information


The building is not shown on the O.S. map 1830 nor on the 1856 Rev. It is shown on the 1905 revision. Built as stables probably after erection of church. Now used as a store and recently renamed and called the Grotto Hall being adjacent to the Grotto.
