Historical Information

First shown on 1860 OS 6” map. Demolished 1984. First survey card states: “ A 1½ storey harled and whitened house with slated roof. On the north side the panelled door is flanked either side by an unrecessed timber framed window. There is a lean-to porch at rear. Poor condition. Date 1833”. Original HMBB survey slide shows a one and a half storey/ two bay vernacular house. Pitched natural slate roof with rendered and coped chimney to each gable. Cement skew to left gable. Advanced eaves course supported rainwater goods. Walls are lime rendered and white washed. To right side of left bay (centre of front elevation) is an advanced entrance porch with mono-pitched natural slate roof, its left and right cheeks are blank and it has a sheeted timber door to front. To left of porch to either side is a 4/2 sliding sash window with horns and roughly dressed cill. To right of porch is a smaller 3/3 sliding sash with a more finely dressed cill.
