Exterior Description And Setting

Three bay wide single storey vernacular house with green painted corrugated iron roof gabled with chimney on each gable. Bed outshot to rear of kitchen. Walls stone built and white washed. Centre door with window on either side. Windows altered to casement type. Kitchen extended to rear.

This was originally one of four similar vernacular buildings all indicated on OSS 14 1830. The house is in the ownership of the occupier of the public house at 240 Culmore Road. The others were demolished during first half of this century. Evaluation

A quaint small vernacular cottage along the main road to Donegal. It adds character to the area. However,its setting is marred by its neighbour, its historical setting as a terrace has been removed, as has much of its historical detail.
