Exterior Description And Setting


Demolished. Described in the first survey in 1972 as 'A harled and colour-washed lodge with hipped slated roof and lean-to extension to south. There is a two-light gabled extension to west. Windows have cross glazing. The eaves are supported on paired modillions, there is a central chimney.'

Historical Information


Gate lodge was probably erected when Ballyarnett House was extended in c 1860. It was demolished during the 1980's to be replaced by a new house. Gate lodge is not referred to in Griffiths Valuation of 1858.
