Exterior Description And Setting


In a field known as the Racecourse Plantation is a circular gazebo overlooking the field once used as a racecourse. It is three storeys high with curving steps wrapping around to a first floor entranace. Four arched openings around the tower are surmounted by four blind oculi. (This tower is referred to in the discussion of the Bellarena Estate on HB02/09/002). It is built of red brick with plain stingcourses at each stage. Simple corbels are located below the sting course over arched openings.
