Exterior Description And Setting


A former two room thatched house with harled and whitened walls. Sheeted door was surmounted by a flat brick arch (Historic Buildings Records 1970) now demolished with foundations of walls remaining to about 300mm from the ground. Situated to the north west of and below Duncrun Road. Three room former thatched house and barns with tiled roof in good condition nearby. Third similar house further to north east removed to Ulster Folk Museum (Clyde Cottage).

Not on 1830 map, but on 1856 map. Lived in by Mr Robert Butcher in 1970 but allowed to fall into decay after his death. Thatched roof fell in and house stood as ruin until early 1997 when it was demolished. References: Historic buildings records Neighbouring owner.
