Exterior Description And Setting


A single arch rubble stone bridge almost semi-circular springing off vertical abutment. Span 4½ metres with 150mm to 200mm wide voissoirs, parapets one metre high with squared stone copings. Width between parapets 6½ metres and length approximately 16 metres. The bridge is on the boundary of the ward and within the Marquis of Waterford estate lands. The road approach on either side of the bridge is straight.

The stonework has a rustic and old appearance and the bridge is certainly pre 1800 if not some 25 years earlier.

.A good example of mid Georgian period bridge sturdily built of stone and adds character to Terrydoo Road.
