Exterior Description And Setting

Single storey/three bay house, aligned parallel to, but set well back from, west side of Ballymageogh Road. Pitched natural slate roof with blue clay ridges and verge tiles. Two rendered and coped chimneys, one to each party wall. No rainwater goods. Walls are rendered (façade is covered with a decorative hedge) and painted. Main façade faces east. Entrance is set in a gabled porch to left of central bay. Its roof is pitched and natural slated, with plain painted timber bargeboards and walls as façade. Cheeks are plain. Door is painted t+g sheeted. There is a single window to each bay. All are 2/2 (vertically divided) sliding sashes with painted granite cills. Left gable has a single modern metal casement window with granite cill. Right gable is devoid of openings. Rear elevation is abutted to left by an outhouse and to centre by two lean-to returns. Right bay is blank. Outhouse is rectangular in plan and has a pitched slate roof, gabled to rear and hipped at join with house. Its walls are as house and there is a single t+g sheeted door on rear gable. Lean-to extensions have corrugated asbestos roofs; metal window as gable of main block and t+g sheeted door to left side. Rear yard has a single storey outhouse running parallel with house. It has a pitched natural slate roof, rendered walls and painted t+g sheeted timber doors. To front of house is a small garden enclosed by hedges.
