Historical Information

Building first shown on the 1909 map. Has been derelict since mid 1970s. Formerly the home of the Alcorn family. Likely that entrance was originally on north facade giving a more usual layout of reception rooms on either side of an entrance hall with kitchens to the rear. Evaluation

Initially, an interesting well proportioned housed with a double pile suggestive of relatively early construction date. However, even if entrance was on north facade interior spaces are still cramped and mean and give no impression of classical proportion. At present, the house is in a poor state of repair and is not worthy of listing.
