Exterior Description And Setting

Demolished and replaced by a new bank. Described in the first survey in 1970 as 'A three-storey building with a single storey porch and banking hall. Ground floor and porch are horizontally channeled below a moulded string course continued as a cornice with pierced ballustrade over porch. The parapet of the banking hall exhibits a similar finish. Upper floors of tall building have raised quoins and contain three windows on each floor set in square moulded architraves. First floor double-hung windows are plain; second floor have full glazing bars. Plain sashed windows of banking hall are flanked by plain pilasters supporting semi-circular arches with moulded archivolts and keystones. Modillions support eaves-cornice; the roof is slated. Door to three storey front is set in a square moulded architrave.'
