Exterior Description And Setting

Long single storey rectangular gabled house with recently added flat roofed extensions at front and rear, situated along a narrow farm track off the Inishargy Road, to the north of Kircubbin. Front SW elevation has left of centre flat roofed porch with front timber and glazed door to right (SE) side and large two pane PVC window to front. To left of porch is similar window with two to right. To the right of these windows is a large flat roofed extension with window, similar to before, at front. NW gable blank. SE gable has large PVC ‘casement’ window. Rear has mixture of mainly large PVC windows with a small ‘lean to’ extension with timber and glazed rear door. Front and gables finished in rough cast render, rear largely unrendered. Roof pitched and gabled with Bangor blue slates with three red brick chimney stacks and stone parapets. PVC gutters and down spouts.

House shown, without extensions, on OS map of 1834. Until the last 25 years or so this house appears to have remained in a form perhaps largely untouched since its construction, however, this has now changed with the building of the extensions and the inclusion of PVC windows.
