Exterior Description And Setting


In the graveyard there are many varied headstones and two mausolea. One of the latter the family vault of the Gage family sunk below the general ground level with steps leading down to its open doorway. (In the past fill had been added to the middle part of the graveyard).‘The mausoleum is a low rectangular building with gables at either end, a Gothic doorway and buttresses. Each gable is crowned by a crocketed finial at its apex’ J S Curl.Note: For information of parish church see (HB02/10/009A).
